ताला हूँ मैं ताला हूँ
घर का मैं रखवाला हूँ
पीतल,स्टील या हो लोहा
सबका हूँ मैं बना हुआ
बंद करे मुझको जो चाबी
खोलेगी भी बस वही चाबी
चोरों को जो हो दूर भगाना
तो भूल न जाना मुझे लगाना

Title of Poem: I am a lock

I am a lock, I am a lock

I safeguard the house

Brass, steel or iron

I am made in all these materials

The key that locks me

Is the same that unlocks me

If you wish to keep thieves away

Do not forget to put me on.

गुलाबी है इसका छिलका बाहर
काटो इसे तो बहें अश्रु हज़ार
जैनी ब्राह्मण वैष्णव करते ना ना
न हो पाए इसका सेवन रोज़ाना
दाल सब्ज़ी में लगे इसका तड़का
ये है सलाद में कच्चा भी पड़ता
बताओ ज़रा कौन है ये हमराज़
जी हाँ ये है पौष्टिक प्याज़

Gulabi hai iska chilka bahar

Kato ise to bahein ashru hazaar

Jaini, Brahman, Vaishnav karte na na

Na ho paye iska seva rozana

Dal sabzi mein lage iska tadka

Ye hai salad mein kaccha bhi padta

Batao zara kaun hai ye humraz

Ji haan ye hai paushtik pyaz

English Translation:

It is a pinkish peel on its outer surface

When you cut it, tears flow down your eyes involuntqrily

Jains, Brahmins and Vaishbava say no to this

They ensure that they do not consume it daily

It is used as a tadka (flavoring agent) in pulses and vegetable preparations

It is also consumed in its raw form in salad

Tez naak kare achhe-buray mein bhed
Teekhey daant, bhaunke tez
Pyar samman mein na kare parhez
Dekh kar malik dhum hilaye
Muh se apni laar lagaye
Kaun hai ye pyara jantu zara batayein
Ye hai kukar jo kutta bhi kahlaye

English Translation:

Black, brown, off-white, white

A sharp sense of smell that differentiates between good and bad

Sharp teeth, barks loud

Does not shy from loving and respecting humans

Starts wagging its tail on seeing its owner

Licks you with all its saliva

Guess who is this lovable animal?

It is dog (called kukar and kutta in Hindi language)

बिल्ली बोली म्याऊँ म्याऊँ
क्या मैं घर क अंदर आऊं ?
चूहे मुझको मिल नहीं पाये
अब बतलाओं मैं क्या खाऊँ
मैं बोला आओ आओ
तुम भी पिज़्ज़ा बर्गर खाओ
बिल्ली बोली मैं ना खाऊँ
जंक फ़ूड से मैं घबराऊँ
सॉफ्ट ड्रिंक क पास न जाऊँ
मैं तो दुध मलाई खाऊँ

I relish milk and cream

मैं हूँ गोल तिकोनो में सजी धजी
छोटी छोटी पतली पतली
लगाती हूँ सफ़ेद बिंदी
खाओ मेरी सब्जी बनाके
करो चित्रकारी
या मुझे रंग लगा के
पालन पोषण मैं हूँ करती
मैं हूँ “ओकरा” मैं नहीं डरती
लेना हो जो मेरा नाम हिंदी
तो कह दो चाहिए तुमको “भिन्डी”

Main hu gol tikono mein saji dhaji

Choti choti patli patli

Lagati hu safed bindi

Khao meri sabji bana ke

Karo chitrakari

Ya mujhe rang laga ke

Palan poshan main hu karti

Main hu okra main nahi darti

Lena ho jo mera naam Hindi

To kehna chahiye tumko “bhindi“

English Translation:

I have a green appearance

Filled with lots of seeds

I am dressed in circular triangles

I am small and longitudinal

I have white spots (due to appearance of small seeds)

You can eat me as a vegetable dish after cooking

Or you can prepare a painting

By putting colors on me

I give nutrition to body

I am Okra, I am not scared

If you wish to take my name in Hindi language

Then you should be addressing me as “Bhindi“
